At The Yorkshire Deli, we proudly collaborate with over 50 exceptional Yorkshire suppliers, whose products elevate our offerings. From artisan cheeses and jams to zesty chutneys,, and a curated selection of hot sauces, celebrate the best that Yorkshire has to offer. Many of suppliers are award-winning businesses, recognized with Great Taste Awards for their outstanding quality We truly couldn't do it without their skill and dedication!
Our Yorkshire Journey
The Yorkshire Deli is an award-winning delicatessen dedicated to high-quality local produce. From our signature homemade flapjack to a diverse range of cheeses, jams, and beverages sourced exclusively from Yorkshire, we embody the true essence of our region. Our commitment is to connect with the best local suppliers while ensuring that our customers experience the rich flavours of Yorkshire's finest offerings.
In the beginning....
We opened The Yorkshire Deli in April 2024 5 days after getting the keys. We displayed the stock on an assortment of crates and pine furniture from home. We opened the doors on the first day without pricing quite a lot of stuff as we thought it wouldn't be busy and we could do it as we went along.
We were wrong it was incredibly busy and we were stunned and delighted. Our feet have barely touched the ground since.
Initially the business was me, (Janet) and my daughter Sorrel joined soon after by my son Ben who has brought his love of spicy food from time spent travelling in Asia and working in China. We have a good selection of hot sauce from 'mild to wild'
It's still just the three of us with Ben in the shop, Sorrel baking in the unit and me in both.
Our suppliers are made up of businesses that I traded alongside from my market/food festival days, products we have seen at events and exciting new finds.
They are all micro/small businesses and all make their products in Yorkshire.
Fast forward to November 2025 and our list of suppliers has grown to over 50 with a large amount of of Taste Awards between them, testament to the incredible food that hails from Yorkshire.
We love and respect all our suppliers, people who have taken the decision to back themselves to follow their dream of working for themselves, often a risky path to tred to bring products to market.
We pay all our suppliers as soon as we receive the invoice to help with cash flows as nobody wants to be waiting for weeks for their money.
We love our shop and what we do and we look forward to giving a warm Yorkshire welcome to existing customers and new ones.
